About Me

I’m Haleigh, a landscape painter based in Bozeman, Montana. For two years I traveled across the country from the eerie bog lands of the South to the towering Rocky Mountains making campsites my home. Through my travels I discovered the endless well of creative inspiration that nature provides. I had no choice but to pick up a brush and paint what I saw.
After I gained the inspiration to paint, I dabbled in art school where I learned some of the basics. Though my professor's and a beloved mentor helped me grow exponentially, I found that by prioritizing a practice and by simply looking at the mountains or studying the trees, that my art could still thrive.
Oil painting is my primary medium, though I also experiment with gouache, charcoal, and oil pastels. When exploring the outdoors we often stumble upon scenes that are so pleasing to the eye that mother nature seemingly sculpted it with artistic intent. Beyond its obvious beauty and intrigue, the natural world has long served as a mirror for the human experience, shaping our beliefs, and inspiring symbolism or mythology across cultures. Portrayed mostly in a realistic style, the intent behind my work often leans on these themes while aiming to highlight the strange, the calm, and the beauty of our natural world.
